About Me
My name is tiffany powell, the owner and founder of glo’s independent living and transitional homes, richmond, ca. Glo’s independent living llc was founded in 2019 in the memory of my mom gloria ousborn who helped countless men and women in the community get their lives back together.
Despite her social tenderness and sensitivity towards everyone including me, i felt very insecure as i was growing up and suffered from social anxiety and identity issues like many teens and children do. However, my anxiety became acute i decided to do something about it myself. I wanted to get out of my mental state so i started supporting those in the similar state as me as a means to derive contentment in being a helping hand for someone else. Thus, i started to work in the case manner field and continued to do so for 10 years before starting glo’s independent living and transitional homes.
We created glo’s independent living in loving memory of gloria ousborn, a caring member of the richmond community. In her honor, we are committed to the belief that there is always an opportunity to recover from life’s challenges. No matter how bleak the situation may be, gloria showed us that there is still light at the end of the tunnel. Our affordable housing helps people recover from a variety of circumstances.
People at all stages of life can experience many different hardships. Many people suffer from mental health illnesses, such as debilitating anxiety and depression. Others may be unable to obtain or keep a good job due to varying factors. Meanwhile, others can fall prey to substance abuse, and some may feel left behind by their friends, family, and the educational system. Whatever situation you face, there is a place for you here. We know that people across california have to deal with these struggles and more, so we want to do our part to create a better world for everyone and offer affordable housing programs in ca.

Glo’s mission is to always have the housing capacity and supportive staff to take anyone in need no matter income, gender, race, mental issues. We aim to provide them with a place to regroup the necessary LOVE, resources and support they need to overcome the obstacles of life.
